Role of Women in Politics Empowerment of Women Towards Politics

Women have a significant influence on society and politics. Research indicates that a large proportion of women in politics speak out against harassment of women and support the fundamental requirements for gender equality. Growing the proportion of women in decision-making positions is the first step towards fulfilling political duty to women.

There are several nations where female leaders hold prominent positions. These include the United States Vice President Kamla Harris, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Haseena Shaikh, the re-elected Prime Minister of New Zealand, and the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Markel. These instances further demonstrate the developed world’s success.

In Pakistan, there is increasing recognition that women in 2020 will remain marginalized in public and political life. Nevertheless, we have witnessed this unfold in Pakistan’s high-profile elections over the last few years. Even though she was widely praised for her efforts to promote peace, prosperity, and development across the globe, Benazir Bhutto, who passed away, was Pakistan’s first female prime minister.

Miss Ghulam Sughra Solangi is a resident of the Kot Diji district in Sindh’s rural area. A woman in struggle for women’s empowerment and development, serving as CEO of Marvi Rural Development Organization (MRDO). In 2011, she was also given the International Women of Courage award by former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former First Lady Michelle Obama.
