Pakistan Army Clinches Women’s Softball Gold at National Games 2025
Army overcomes WAPDA 9–6 in a thrilling seven-inning final, showcasing skill, strategy, and competitive spirit.

The match started with Pakistan Army asserting dominance, scoring consistently in early innings and putting WAPDA on the back foot. Their disciplined batting ensured the lead kept growing, forcing WAPDA to chase throughout.
WAPDA fought valiantly, scoring six runs and keeping the contest alive until the final innings. Despite the comeback, Army’s execution and strategic play secured the victory.
Army scorers included Ayesha, Hina, Fizza, and Ramsha, each contributing two runs to the total of nine. WAPDA’s runs came from Madiha, Iqra, and Noreena.
Pakistan Police earned the bronze after steady performances throughout the tournament, completing the medal tally for the event.
Olympian Islahuddin, chief guest at the closing ceremony, praised the high-quality final and lauded the rising standard of women’s sports in Pakistan.
“Both teams displayed discipline, spirit, and outstanding skill. Growing participation in softball signals a bright future for women’s sports,” he said.
Tehmina Asif, President of the Softball Federation of Pakistan, highlighted the potential of the players, noting their ability to compete at international standards.
Secretary General Naseem Khan applauded the organisers, emphasising the importance of creating more opportunities for women athletes across the country.
Organising Secretary Zeeshan Merchant expressed pride in hosting a major sports event in Karachi, commending the efforts of teams, umpires, and ground staff in making the tournament a success.
