Women’s Contribution to Pakistan’s Economic Development

In Pakistan, women make up half of the population. Any nation or state’s economic development depends heavily on its female population. It is possible to increase the gross domestic product of any nation simply by decreasing the gender gap. In Pakistan, women’s authorization will also result in significant change. Many consultants provide evidence that the primary cause of the slow economic growth is gender differences.

Compared to countries where gender discrimination is less prevalent, those with high rates of discrimination experience slower rates of growth in their gross domestic product. According to the World Economic Forum, Pakistan is ranked 148th out of 149 nations in the global gender gap index.

Women in our nation continue to struggle and face a number of problems and difficulties. According to the global economy report, Pakistan has a twenty-three percent female labor force participation rate. Pakistan is, therefore, ranked 167th out of 181 nations hierarchical. In addition to limited opportunities for advancement, women also experience a wide range in pay.

According to a United Nations report on women’s health, which found that 48% of them are under48, Pakistani women do not have the right to make decisions about their own health. Pakistan is considered to be the third-worst country when it comes to maternal deaths, which is concerning. The main reasons why women in our country have poor health are the extremely narrow view of women’s rights, a lack of resources, lower investment in the health sector, and rapid advancement in the field.

Enforcing effective policies and programs is necessary to encourage female participation in the labor economy. Furthermore, mandatory application of applicable laws and legislation is necessary to improve the working conditions. Support and amenities should be made available to women who are already employed by United Nations agencies. Fair financial investment opportunities in Pakistan’s academic and health sectors are crucial to the country’s economic growth.
