Sindh Launches Scooter Training Program for Women

Empowering women with safe riding skills and mobility across Sindh cities.

The Sindh government has introduced a scooter training program aimed at promoting safe and convenient mobility for women, announced by senior provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. The initiative began in Karachi’s Korangi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, and Malir districts, with a special focus on women interested in applying for the Pink Scooty. Hyderabad’s training commenced on 18 December, and sessions are set to expand to other cities, including Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Mirpurkhas.

The program emphasizes developing safe riding skills and practical knowledge for women, offering both students and working women the opportunity to gain independence and confidence on the road. Minister Memon highlighted that women’s empowerment is tied not only to economic independence but also to social freedom, making safe and accessible travel facilities a key aspect of overall empowerment.

This initiative allows women to enhance their mobility, reduce reliance on others for transportation, and participate more actively in social and economic life. Interested applicants can access training schedules and registration details through the official Sindh government portal.

By providing structured training and promoting safe riding practices, the Sindh government aims to create a supportive environment for women’s independence, ensuring they can travel confidently and safely within their communities.
