ISLAMABAD, March 8: Managing Director of PTV & Secretary Information and Broadcasting, Ms. Ambreen Jan, paid tribute to Pakistani women on International Women’s Day, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the nation’s progress. She emphasized the critical role of women in shaping Pakistan’s future, highlighting the need for equal educational opportunities for girls as a foundation for national growth.
In a special message on PTV News, Ms. Ambreen Jan stated, “Women are the backbone of our society, and their empowerment is key to a prosperous Pakistan.” She urged parents to treat daughters and sons equally, ensuring that girls receive the same educational and professional opportunities to build a stronger, more inclusive nation.
Drawing inspiration from Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, she underscored his deep appreciation for women’s contributions, particularly his sister, Fatima Jinnah, who stood beside him in the struggle for Pakistan’s independence. “Their bond is a testament to the power of love, respect, and equal partnership between men and women,” she added.
Ms. Ambreen Jan also commended the Information Department for its progress in women’s empowerment. Reflecting on her own experience, she noted that when she began, there were only a few women in the department—but today, it thrives with a dedicated Women Empowerment Department, symbolizing the country’s strides towards gender inclusivity.
She concluded with an uplifting message, acknowledging the talent, resilience, and determination of Pakistani women, who are driving national development and prosperity. “Without a doubt, Pakistani women are hardworking and rapidly progressing, making valuable contributions in every sector,” she affirmed.
