Pakistan Will be Led by Nida Dar in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup

At the 2018 ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, from July 19 to 28, Nida Dar will captain the Pakistani squad.
A press release stated that the final squad was revealed after a four-day session that ended in Karachi on Saturday. The confirmed squad consists of the following players: Nashra Sundhu, Omaima Sohail, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Syeda Aroob Shah, Tasmia Rubab, Gull Feroza, Iram Javed, Muneeba Ali, Najiha Alvi (wk), Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Fatima Sana, and Tuba Hassan.
Several players, including Ayesha Zafar, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar, have been taken off of the 17-member team that toured England last month. Iram Javed, Omaima Sohail, Syeda Aroob Shah, and Tasmia Rubab are taking their place.
The last T20I Iram Javed played at Chattogram was against Bangladesh in October 2023. In December 2023, Omaima Sohail played her final Twenty20 international match in Queenstown against New Zealand, while Syeda Aroob Shah’s final Twenty20 match took place in Karachi in September 2023 against South Africa.
The only member of the team without a cap is left-arm fast bowler Tasmia Rubab, a 22-year-old. In November 2023, she had previously represented Pakistan A in matches against Thailand and West Indies A. Tasmia scored 86 runs and claimed 12 wickets in the most recent National Women’s One-Day Tournament 2023–24. Moreover, she took four wickets in the National Women T20 Tournament 2023–24 with an economy rate of 6.36.
Starting on July 5, the Pakistan women’s national cricket team will train in Karachi until July 16, when they will depart. The camp will be supervised by head coach Muhammad Wasim, who will be assisted by assistant coaches Abdur Rehman for spin bowling, Junaid Khan for bowling, and Hanif Malik for fielding.
Waleed Ahmed, an analyst, Rabia Siddiq, a physiotherapist, and manager Hina Munawar make up the team’s management.
Group “A” includes Pakistan, India, Nepal, and the United Arab Emirates; Group “B” includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Malaysia. On July 26, the top two teams from each group will move on to the semi-finals.
On July 19, Pakistan will play India. On July 21 and 23, respectively, Pakistan will play Nepal and the United Arab Emirates.
