Yango Pakistan Partners with PSCA to Enhance Women’s and Family Safety

Yango Pakistan teams up with the Punjab Safe City Authority to improve safety for women and families through innovative features in the ride-hailing experience.

Yango Pakistan has taken a bold step toward improving the safety and security of women and families in Pakistan by entering into a strategic partnership with the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA). This collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marks a significant milestone in the country’s ride-hailing industry. The initiative emphasizes the importance of providing secure and reliable transportation services, especially for women and children, who often face unique safety challenges while traveling.

The primary focus of the partnership is to implement a range of innovative security measures within the Yango app, ensuring passengers feel safe and confident throughout their ride experience. As part of the initiative, Yango will integrate an in-app feature that enables female passengers to directly call the Women’s Safety Helpline (15) for immediate assistance. This feature aims to provide quick and easy access to emergency support whenever necessary, giving women peace of mind while traveling.

In addition to this, the partnership also introduces a dedicated Child Safety Helpline within the app. This helpline ensures that parents and guardians have direct access to emergency assistance, offering extra assurance when traveling with children. The inclusion of these services highlights the shared commitment of Yango Pakistan and the PSCA to create a safer environment for families, recognizing that the protection of vulnerable groups is essential for promoting inclusive and secure mobility in urban areas.

The partnership goes beyond just the introduction of new safety features. Both Yango Pakistan and the PSCA are working together to explore and develop additional technologies and security protocols. These advancements are designed to further enhance the protection of passengers and drivers alike, with a particular focus on providing better safety infrastructure for women and children. With this collaboration, Yango Pakistan aims to be a leader in integrating tech-driven safety solutions into the ride-hailing ecosystem.

This partnership is not just about adding features to an app; it reflects a deeper commitment to social responsibility and community welfare. By addressing the specific needs of women and families, Yango Pakistan is aligning itself with broader goals of building safer communities and ensuring that all passengers have access to transportation services that meet their needs without compromising on security.

Miral Sharif, the Country Head of Yango Pakistan, expressed the company’s dedication to passenger safety. He emphasized that the collaboration with the PSCA represents a significant step toward enhancing the overall security and reliability of Yango’s services in Pakistan. “At Yango Pakistan, passenger safety is our highest priority. This partnership is a strong step forward in ensuring secure and reliable mobility for all, particularly women and children,” he said. He further stated that this is just the beginning of a series of initiatives planned to continuously improve the safety features of the Yango app, with a focus on tailoring solutions to local needs.

SSP Capt (retd) Mustansar Feroze, Chief Operating Officer of the PSCA, welcomed the collaboration and highlighted the importance of using technology to make urban transportation safer. He noted that the partnership with Yango Pakistan is a testament to the shared mission of both parties to build a safer, more secure community through the use of innovative tech solutions.

This partnership is part of Yango’s broader commitment to Pakistan, where it has quickly established itself as a trusted name in the ride-hailing sector. The company’s focus on safety, affordability, and reliability has made it a popular choice among passengers, and this new collaboration with the PSCA further strengthens its position in the market. With the launch of these new safety features and the promise of more to come, Yango Pakistan is setting the stage for a safer, smarter, and more inclusive ride-hailing experience for all its users.

As Yango continues to grow in Pakistan, this partnership signals the company’s dedication to not only providing affordable and accessible ride-hailing services but also taking a leading role in addressing critical safety concerns. Through this collaboration, Yango Pakistan is making significant strides in ensuring that women, children, and families can travel with confidence, knowing that their safety is a top priority.
