Voice of Her Empowers Women Musicians in Pakistan
Karachi hosts a unique concert to uplift female artists while supporting breast cancer awareness.

In Pakistan, women in music often struggle to find platforms that let them shine. While digital spaces offer some visibility, the real stage, where careers flourish often remains elusive due to safety concerns or biases. Voice of Her changes that narrative, creating a safe, empowering space for female musicians.
Samra Khan, a Dubai-based Pakistani musician, is the driving force behind this initiative. Balancing motherhood and her passion for music, she founded Voice of Her as a movement, a collaboration, and a sisterhood. “I wanted to create a safe platform for women artists in Pakistan,” Khan explained. The first major event will take place on October 26 at NAPA in Karachi, in collaboration with Pink Ribbon Pakistan.
The concert carries a meaningful purpose. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and proceeds from the event will support Pink Ribbon Pakistan’s hospital in Lahore. Khan emphasized that the initiative is about giving back to the community, combining artistry with social responsibility.
Joining Khan on stage are Zara Madni and Mairah Khan, two talented musicians sharing the same vision of promoting female artistry. Zara’s powerful voice and Mairah’s sitar and guitar skills promise a lineup that balances originality and emotional depth. Leading the creative direction is renowned drummer and producer Gumby, who has helped bring the musicians together and ensured the concert maintains high artistic standards.
Khan hopes the audience will experience more than music. “If Voice of Her could leave the audience with one feeling, it would be compassion and empathy,” she shared. The event is designed not only to entertain but also to inspire understanding, connection, and support among attendees.
From the first note to the final applause, Voice of Her aims to showcase the strength and creativity of Pakistani women musicians. It represents a reclaiming of the stage, a celebration of talent, and a meaningful step toward broader recognition and empowerment for female artists.
This initiative is a reminder that impactful change begins with courage and vision. Khan has created a platform that uplifts voices, nurtures talent, and amplifies the message that women in Pakistan deserve equal opportunities to perform, inspire, and lead.
