In their meeting in Tokyo, both leaders highlighted that women’s leadership is a shared strength for their nations. Maryam Nawaz congratulated Matsumoto Akiko on her historic appointment and lauded her 35 years of public service in the Japanese government. The two agreed to promote relations between Pakistan and Japan while exploring opportunities for joint ventures across multiple sectors.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized Punjab’s interest in benefiting from Japan’s advanced expertise in infrastructure development, urban planning, renewable energy, and clean water projects. She also showed keen interest in replicating Tokyo’s “Clean Authority” model to make Punjab cleaner and more sustainable. Sharing updates on Punjab’s progress, she highlighted ongoing projects for comfortable travel, green development, and revolutionary women empowerment programs.

Calling Japan “a wonderful amalgamation of sterling progress and values,” the chief minister said it serves as a role model for nations across the world.

During her visit to the headquarters of Morinaga, a globally renowned Japanese dairy products company with over a century of experience, Maryam Nawaz invited the firm to invest in Punjab’s dairy industry. She proposed partnerships for the local production of baby food, bakery items, and export-quality meat, while also stressing the adoption of modern Japanese machinery and breeding methods to improve livestock health and enhance meat quality.
