Amna Baloch is being Appointed as Foreign Secretary
Major appointments are anticipated at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the positions of foreign secretary and Foreign Office spokesperson, sources told the reporter.
Sources revealed that Amna Baloch, a Grade 22 officer of the Foreign Service of Pakistan, will be appointed as the foreign secretary, replacing Dr. Syrus Sajjad Qazi following his retirement. Baloch is set to assume her duties on September 11. She is the second woman federal secretary appointed by the government within a month.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch is being appointed as Pakistan’s ambassador to France, replacing Asim Iftikhar Ahmad. Meanwhile, Ahmad has been designated as Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations, succeeding Munir Akram.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved these appointments based on Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s recommendations. Additional changes to Pakistan’s envoys in various capitals, including Paris, Ottawa, Pretoria, Brunei, and Kuwait, have also been approved.

Muhammad Saleem has been appointed as high commissioner for Canada, Janbaz Khan as ambassador for Brunei Darussalam, and Syed Faisal Niaz Tirmizi as ambassador for Belgium. Malik Muhammad Farooq has been appointed high commissioner for South Africa.
Who is Amna Baloch?
Amna Baloch is currently Pakistan’s Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg. She has previously served as high commissioner to Malaysia and in various other diplomatic roles. She joined the Pakistan Foreign Service in 1991 and holds a master’s degree in history.
