Bus Driver Attacked by Passengers Near Osh Market
Two women assaulted the driver of bus No. 25 after he refused to stop at an unauthorized location.

A preliminary investigation has been launched into the assault on a bus driver operating route No. 25, according to a statement from Nazira Alakunova, the press secretary of the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs. The incident took place on August 2 near the busy Osh market area. The conflict reportedly started when a female passenger asked the driver to stop the bus at an unauthorized location and allow her to exit through the front door, which is against regulations.
The driver explained that she needed to exit through the back door at a designated stop, but his refusal was met with hostility. According to the driver, the woman became aggressive, refused to comply with his explanation, and physically attacked him. As the situation escalated, a second woman approached and joined in the assault. The driver stated that both women beat him and shouted insults during the incident.
Fortunately, a bystander stepped in and intervened. He managed to separate the attackers and led them away from the driver, helping to de-escalate the situation before it worsened further. The driver’s account has been documented, and the authorities have begun gathering evidence as part of the investigation. The Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs has not yet released further details about the identities of the suspects or any possible charges.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of public transportation workers, especially in crowded areas like the Osh market where tensions can quickly rise. While the motives behind the women’s aggression remain unclear, authorities are urging witnesses to come forward to support the investigation. Public transport employees have expressed the need for stricter enforcement of rules and more protection against violent passengers.
The investigation is ongoing.
