Sindh Government Launches Free Pink Scooty Scheme for Women in 2025
Women in Sindh to receive free electric pink scooties under a new mobility and empowerment initiative by the Transport Department

In a progressive move to empower women and enhance their mobility, the Government of Sindh has introduced a special scheme offering free electric pink scooties to eligible women. Spearheaded by the Transport and Mass Transit Department, this initiative reflects a commitment to safer, more accessible, and affordable travel for women across the province.
The scheme targets students and working women, aiming to support their daily commute with independence and dignity. With this initiative, the government not only seeks to improve transportation access but also to promote women’s participation in educational and professional fields.
Eligibility Criteria
To benefit from this scheme, applicants must meet the following conditions:
-
Be a permanent resident of Sindh.
-
Be either a student or a working woman.
-
Possess a valid driving license, either for a motorbike or a car.
-
Commit not to sell or sublet the scooty for at least seven years.
-
Pass a road safety skill test if selected through the official draw.
Training and Road Safety
Recognizing that many women may be new to riding, the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) will provide free training programs throughout the province. These sessions will cover everything from basic riding techniques to road safety awareness, equipping women with the confidence and skills needed to ride independently and responsibly.
Transparent Distribution Process
Scooties will be distributed through a transparent balloting process, ensuring fairness and equal opportunity. The process will be monitored by both print and electronic media, adding another layer of credibility and transparency.
To further ensure the integrity of the program, a special committee—comprising representatives from the Excise, Transport, Finance, and Media departments—will oversee all phases of the distribution. Their joint efforts will ensure that the process remains impartial and efficient.
How to Apply
Interested applicants can submit their applications online by visiting the official portal: smta.sindh.gov.pk. The application process is simple and accessible, designed to encourage maximum participation.
Empowering Women through Mobility
This scooty scheme is more than just a transportation program—it’s a symbol of empowerment. For many women in Sindh, especially those in remote areas, transportation has long been a barrier to accessing education, work, and healthcare. By removing this barrier, the Sindh government is making a bold statement: women’s freedom to move is essential to their freedom to grow.
The pink electric scooties also promote eco-friendly transport, aligning with global efforts toward sustainable mobility. This initiative blends empowerment, safety, and sustainability into one impactful program.
In 2025, Sindh takes a strong step forward in transforming public transport for women—making the roads safer, their journeys easier, and their futures brighter.
