In-laws Kill Layyah Woman Due to Cooking Delay

In Kot Sultan village Korywali, Layyah, on Tuesday, a woman was allegedly tortured to death by her in-laws for not finishing the dinner preparation.

Based on the accusation of Abdul Majeed, Parveen Bibi’s uncle, Kot Sultan police have opened a murder case.

According to reports, Parveen was tortured by her husband Muhammad Yusuf and his brothers Muhammad Ejaz, Muhammad Younis, and Nadar, who questioned her about why she had put off making the food.

Parveen Bibi was severely beaten with clubs by the suspects, according to the first information report (FIR), to the point of unconsciousness. After being transferred in critical condition from the tehsil headquarters hospital to the district headquarters hospital and finally Nishtar Hospital in Multan, she passed away from her wounds.

Majeed, the complainant, claimed that following her demise, a postmortem examination was done. Asadur Rehman, the Layyah District Police Officer, declared that the culprits will be taken into custody, adding that a special team has been assembled to look into the matter and that violence against women would not be accepted.
