Freedom of expression is a fundamental human right but unfortunately it doesn’t exist in our country.
It was stated by Riz kamali is a talented and versatile artist and done so many worth-watching projects. She shared her opinion about the freedom of Expression in a statement, she said there are governments and individuals in positions of power that threaten this right.
In order to safeguard free speech, there should be laws in place which protect individuals and organisations who are threatened for exposing corruption or unethical behaviour. She said journalists, watchdogs, activists and whistleblowers should be given robust legal protection which enables them to carry out their work safely and shields them from retaliation from those seeking to silence them.
Being a responsible citizen and artist I think it’s my part of work n sense of responsibility to express with freedom what I feel, she added. Riz said, I try multiple times on different platforms to speak up about crucially focused factual facts but with the fabric of Pakistani society being what it is, end up facing backlash I don’t deserve.
Freedom of expression is an important human right which is essential for a society to be democratic, she stated.
