Maryam Nawaz Orders Fast-Track Work on Ravi City Project

Punjab CM reviews progress on river training works and praises security forces for eliminating threats.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed authorities to accelerate the development work in Ravi City, emphasizing timely completion and improved efficiency. During her visit to the Motorway-2 Ravi Toll Plaza River Training Works, she received a comprehensive briefing on the project’s progress and later inspected ongoing activities under the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) Package 16. RUDA Chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar, CEO Imran Amin, and COO Brigadier Mansoor Janjua updated her on construction, land development, and river management efforts underway at the site.

The chief minister highlighted the importance of Ravi City as a transformative urban development initiative designed to address population growth, manage environmental challenges, and improve the region’s economic landscape. She stated that delays would not be tolerated and urged all departments to maintain strict oversight, ensure transparency, and resolve bottlenecks without losing momentum. Her visit underscored the provincial government’s commitment to pushing forward with mega projects that aim to reshape urban infrastructure and provide long-term benefits for citizens.

In a separate statement, Maryam Nawaz Sharif praised Pakistan’s security forces for their successful operation in Kalat, where 12 Indian-backed terrorists were eliminated. She described the action as a clear demonstration of the nation’s unwavering resolve against terrorism. According to her, Pakistan remains fully committed to dismantling all terrorist networks, regardless of their source or agenda. She added that such operations reflect the courage, professionalism, and dedication of the armed forces who continue to safeguard the country’s stability.

The chief minister said the nation stands united behind its security institutions, acknowledging their sacrifices and tireless efforts. She reiterated that Pakistan will continue to confront security threats with strength and clarity, ensuring peace and progress for its citizens.
