The UNESCO report underscores that despite progress, women and girls still face substantial barriers in accessing sports. It points out disparities in funding, media coverage, facilities, and leadership opportunities compared to their male counterparts. The report calls on all 194 UNESCO Member States to adopt measures outlined to bridge these gaps.

The upcoming meeting in Paris on July 24 will convene sports ministers worldwide to discuss and formulate concrete political actions aimed at achieving gender equality in sports.
