Tug of war between IWMB and CDA resulted damage of 171.54 acres land and wildlife.

Margalla hills got fire every year in summers affecting habitat and destroying the natural ecosystem.
Every year forest fire escalates the destruction of the ecosystem. Total 32 fire incidents took place this year and badly affected the natural ecosystem, forest landscape, and wildlife. Loss of habitat that is fire-affected fauna of macro soil that major source of food for small mammals and birds. Similarly, huge loss of nesting and breeding sites due to fire ground nesting of birds were badly affected, these incidents happened in the months of April and June that is the breeding season of birds.
Also, 32 different species of reptiles were living on margalla this fire also affected them badly and they vanished due to miserable living conditions.its not over yet huge loss of young saplings is also reported that includes Chir, Pine, Kachnar, Amaltas including complete damage of shrubs that us me to provide cover to wild species.According to damage survey reports 171.54acre area has been affected badly.
The saddest part of the fire incident is it happens every year and destroying the ecosystem, apparently, the Prime minister of Pakistan didn’t take any notice of it but according to some sources he had ordered for inquiry of the incident. Islamabad wildlife management board claims as to the custodian of the house but due to fewer resources and staff they are not able to protect Margalla hills national park and due to Capital Development Authority’s continued interference such incidents are happening on regular basis.
Margalla hills national park is a national park located in Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan. The park includes the Margalla Hills, which form’s the foothills of the Himalayas, along with Shakarparian Park and Rawal Lake. Established in 1980, it is the third-largest national park in the world with an area of 17,386 hectares (42,960 acres).
