Sindh Honors Working Women on National Working Women’s Day
Celebrating the achievements and contributions of women across various fields while promoting empowerment and support

Sindh Minister for Women Development Shaheena Sher Ali emphasized the immense responsibility of working women who balance professional careers with household duties. She also acknowledged the men who support women behind their success.
The National Working Women’s Day ceremony, organized by the Sindh Women Development Department and the Sindh Commission on the Status of Women, gathered women excelling in multiple sectors. The event highlighted their contributions and celebrated their achievements.
Prominent figures attending included Sultana Siddiqui, CEO of a private television network, Secretary Rashid Ahmed Zardari, Chairperson Rubina Brohi, and noted dancer Sheema Kirmani. Their presence underscored the importance of women’s empowerment at both social and professional levels.
Minister Shaheena Sher Ali stressed the government’s commitment to supporting women through initiatives like the 1094 helpline, which addresses complaints and provides legal and moral assistance. She highlighted that women often face new challenges after marriage, unlike men, and require sustained support.
She also pointed out Sindh’s leadership in passing the Marriage Bill to prevent early marriage of girls, emphasizing the government’s persistence and dedication to women’s rights. The minister praised leaders like Fatima Majeed and pledged to uphold the legacy of Nusrat Bhutto and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
Secretary Rashid Ahmed Zardari highlighted that the day aims to raise awareness among working women about their rights. He assured women that the Women Development Department stands by them in times of difficulty and will continue providing guidance and support.
