Pakistan Celebrates Women Entrepreneurship Day on Dec 3

The State Bank of Pakistan will celebrate Women Entrepreneurship Day on December 3, 2025, shining a spotlight on the growing role of women in business and entrepreneurship. The initiative aims to expand women’s participation in the economy and strengthen financial inclusion through nationwide recognition, dedicated programmes, and support for innovators, job creators, and business leaders. PWED 2025 seeks to inspire and encourage more women to step into the entrepreneurial ecosystem and showcase their contributions to Pakistan’s economic growth.

The celebrations will begin with a week-long series of events starting December 1, including awareness campaigns and the Business Idea Competition 2025. Central to the initiative is the Women of Impact Awards, which will honour outstanding women entrepreneurs in categories such as Innovative Leader, Social Impact, Sustainability Champion, and Resilience. Banks will also be recognised with Top Performance and Tech Innovator Awards for their role in supporting women-led ventures.

The main ceremony will be held at SBP Karachi, accompanied by simultaneous events across 16 SBP Banking Services Corporation field offices to ensure nationwide participation. Banks across Pakistan will host activities during the week leading up to December 5, creating a platform to celebrate women entrepreneurs and inspire aspiring business leaders. The programme is designed to highlight success stories and offer visibility to innovative women-led business models.

SBP Governor Jameel Ahmad, senior officials, and presidents and CEOs of major banks will attend the main event, along with representatives of partner institutions. The ceremony will showcase the journey of women entrepreneurship in Pakistan, highlighting stories of resilience, innovation, and leadership. Award recipients and other accomplished entrepreneurs will be recognised, providing role models for the next generation and reinforcing the importance of women’s contributions to economic development.

This initiative reflects Pakistan’s commitment to women’s economic empowerment, linking female entrepreneurs with financial institutions and resources to fuel growth. By celebrating achievements and providing visibility, PWED 2025 encourages more women to embrace leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship, contributing meaningfully to the nation’s economy.

The week-long celebrations focus on mentorship, access to finance, exposure to business networks, and fostering sustainable enterprises. Through events, competitions, and awards, PWED 2025 positions women entrepreneurs as vital drivers of innovation and growth while encouraging equitable opportunities across the country.
