Sindh Government Launches Second Phase of Pink Scooty Scheme to Empower Women
The Sindh government has announced the second phase of its Pink Scooty Scheme, an initiative designed to enhance women’s mobility and independence across the province.

Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon confirmed that distribution of pink scooters to women will begin soon under this new phase. He encouraged women to obtain driving licences, participate in free training sessions, and register for the programme to benefit from the scheme.
Memon stated that the provincial transport department is offering free driving training and licences exclusively for women, ensuring they can travel safely and confidently. The initiative primarily targets female students and working women, aiming to make their daily commute more convenient and secure.
He noted that the first phase of the Pink Scooty Project received a remarkable response, as many women learned to ride, secured their licences, and started using scooters for their everyday routines.
“The Sindh government wants more women to benefit from this facility and continue their educational and professional journeys with safety and dignity,” said Sharjeel Memon.
The minister emphasized that the Pink Scooty Programme complements other successful transport initiatives such as the People’s Bus Service, Pink Bus Service, and Electric Bus Service — all launched to ensure safe, affordable, and respectful transportation for citizens.
He further highlighted that women’s empowerment is not just a policy but a core belief of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), deeply rooted in the legacy of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s vision.
“Women’s empowerment is a central pillar of the PPP’s ideological journey — a continuation of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s vision,” he added.
The Pink Scooty Scheme reflects the Sindh government’s ongoing commitment to creating inclusive mobility opportunities for women — enabling them to travel freely, pursue education, and work without barriers.
