Provision of 3G and 4G in the Tribal Areas discusses in Na SAFFRON Committee

The National Assembly Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) was briefed about the provision of 3G and 4G in the Tribal Areas of Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw.

Its meeting was held in Parliament House, Islamabad under the Chairmanship of MNA Sajid Khan.

The meeting discussed the issue of 3G and 4G network issue in Tribal Districts. It directed the quarters concerned to restore the 3G and 4G network issue in areas where NOCs have already been issued by the concerned Departments on immediate basis.

The Committee further directed that at least the 3G and 4G facility should be provided at the Tribal Districts headquarters at the earliest and submit report back to the Committee accordingly.

The meeting was also briefed by the secretary  SAFRON briefed the Committee on the forceful illegal occupation of Junagarh State by India and other States who acceded to Pakistan at the time of independence in detail. He informed while briefing that at the time of Independence in 1947, 14 States decided to accede to Pakistan and signed Instruments of Accession with the Government of Pakistan, however wherein two States namely Junagarh and Manavadar could not be merged due to forced occupation by India.

Additional Secretary M\o Foreign Affairs also briefed the Committee on the efforts made by the Foreign Office of highlighting the forced occupation of Junagarh by India on International Forums.

The accession claim of Pakistan on Junagarh is still on the agenda of the UN Security Council through UN Resolution. Whereupon the Committee directed the Foreign Office to highlight the double standard of India on Jammu and Kashmir and Junagarh State accession issue on the International forums and UN Security Council as well.

The Superintendant Engineer (SE), Public Health Engineering Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also briefed the Committee on the ongoing, completed and new Drinking Water Supply Schemes in erstwhile FATA in detail.

The Committee directed the Superintendant Engineer (SE), Public Health to start work on both feasible Schemes under the ADP 2018-19 as well as AIP program without any further delay. The Committee further directed that those schemes which are not feasible may be shifted to other feasible sites.

The meeting was attended by MNAs: Mr. Saleh Muhammad, Mr. Shahid Ahmad, Mr. Gul Dad Khan, Mr. Gul Zafar Khan, , Mr. Abdul Shakoor Shad, Mr. Sajid Hussain Turi, and Mr. Muhammad Jamal Ud Din and Officers/Officials of the Ministry and its attached Departments.
