PM Orders to Immediate Inquire Murder of SP Tahir Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered an immediate investiage into the matter pf killing of  Superintendent Police (SP) Tahir Khan Dawar. Worthmentioning Tahir Dawar was kidnapped from capital city Islmabad in the presence of “Safe City Camera” on Octobar, 27th,  2018

In an Tweet Prime Minister Imran Khan said “Have followed the shocking tragedy of the murder of SP Tahir Khan Dawar and ordered KP govt to coordinate with Islamabad police in holding an inquiry immediately,”.

“Minister of State for Interior Shahryar Afridi has been tasked to oversee it with an urgency and present the report to me,” he added.

Earlier on Wednesday,  Information Minister Khyebr Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Shaukat Yousufzai said the Afghanistan government has confirmed the martyrdom of Superintendent Police (SP) Tahir Khan Dawar.

There were rumor over the fate of the missing officer mounted on Tuesday when pictures of a dead body found in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, purportedly that of Dawar, started circulating on social media platforms.

On Thursday,  addressing the Senate about the martyrdom of SP Tahir, Minister of State for Interior Shahryar Khan Afridi  said that  “some elements are trying to destabilize Pakistan”.

The minister of state for interior narrated the events from the time SP Dawar went missing from Islamabad on October 27 to when the Afghan government confirmed his martyrdom on November 14.

“SP Dawar used to receive death threats and his brother and sister-in-law had also been martyred earlier,” Afridi said as he took to the floor of the Upper House.

He added that “An FIR that SP Dawar had gone missing was registered on October 28,” and the Afghan government confirmed reports of his martyrdom on November 14.

Speaking to media here, the provincial minister said the body of martyred police officer could not be received on Wednesday.

“A police team returned from Torkham border crossing after waiting there all day,” he said, adding that the body is likely to be handed over to Pakistan on Thursday.

Yousufzai further said funeral prayers for SP Dawar will be offered in Peshawar, after which his body will be handed over to his family.

Earlier in the day, the Foreign Office of Pakistan said the Afghan government had confirmed the discovery of a body along with the service card of SP Dawar.

It said the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul that locals found a body in Dur Baba district of Nangarhar province on Tuesday.

“The Afghan side has confirmed that the service card of Superintendent of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Mr. Tahir Khan Dawar has also been recovered with the body,” the Foreign Office said in its statement.
