In Pakistan’s Capital, Women Entrepreneurs Shine At A Special Ramadan Bazaar

At a three-day Ramadan bazaar being held in Islamabad, Pakistan’s federal capital, women business owners are making waves by coming from all over the nation to sell handmade apparel, bags, jewelry, and other festive items.

The Rawalpindi Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RWCCI) has arranged the “Empower Women, Empower Nation” bazaar, inviting female entrepreneurs from across Pakistan to showcase and sell their regional products.

The special bazaar, which is being held outside of the city’s Centaurus Mall, will have over thirty stalls and take place from April 1-3.

As she attended to customers at her stall, Haseena Begum, an entrepreneur selling handmade embroidered bags, told Arab News, “We have come from Multan to Islamabad because we always get a very good response from Islamabad.”

For our online shopping, we also draw in a good number of customers from Islamabad. We hope to be invited to events like this one so that our handcrafted goods can be sold out.

The event’s main goal, according to RWCCI President Sabohi Hussain, was to support female home-based entrepreneurs.

These women are from isolated places. She said to Arab News, “Some of them are from Hunza, Gilgit, Multan, and other remote areas. “We are training them for national and international exhibitions, as well as guiding, teaching, and promoting them.”

Selling a variety of semi-stitched, unstitched, and stitched clothing, Rubab Ghazanfar, a businesswoman from the Dera Ghazi Khan district, claimed that all of her clothing was handmade.

She told Arab News, “We are very grateful for the opportunity these events provide us.” “May Allah grant us all success here during this holy month of Ramadan.”

Rawalpindi native Ayesha Ikhlas expressed her excitement at the chance to showcase her new clothing and cosmetics line directly outside a significant Islamabad mall.

She told, “This is a great opportunity for people who have recently started their own businesses; they can start their business in a good way here.”

A guest named Sadia Hashmi commented that all of the handcrafted goods at the bazaar were “very lovely,” particularly the jewelry, and that the prices were fair.

She remarked, “I’m standing at a stall with jewelry that is designed by the woman herself.” “It is really well designed, and I really enjoy it.”
