Why Female Israeli soldiers taking a selfie at the Gaza border
Female Israeli soldiers take a selfie at the Gaza border, sparking discussions on duty, identity, and the human side of conflict in a tense region.

Tsafrir Abayov has been covering the border between Israel and Gaza for 20 years.
When he saw a gather of female troopers taking a selfie from the tall vantage point, not the regular tanks in position, he knew he had a photo. Here, he offers how he made the uncommon image.
Why this photo
I developed up in Ashkelon, approximately 10 km (6 miles) north of Gaza, and I’ve been covering the Israel-Gaza border for nearly 20 a long time, so I know this border from conclusion to end.
I have a parcel of spots where I know I can get a great shot.
On this day, I was driving by, and I saw a gather of female troopers who had gone up to a tank position, on the Israeli side, around 50 meters from the border. I don’t think these warriors are ordinarily positioned there, they fair went up to require a look.
From this position you’ll be able see right into Gaza and all the devastation. Individuals and tanks don’t ordinarily remain up there exceptionally long since it’s exceptionally uncovered, so I knew I had to work quickly.
I saw the bunch strolling up to the position, and I didn’t indeed have time to induce out of my car. I just opened the window and took some photos, they took a selfie, and after that they went back down.
Even in spite of the fact that it looks like we are in Gaza in this photograph, both the officers and I were in Israel, looking over the border.
I utilize a Sony camera and 100-400 focal point, which kind of compresses the viewpoint. This can be the longest focal point that I have. I was approximately 300 meters absent from the troopers, and the buildings in Gaza behind them were almost 500 meters on the other side of the border.
But it appears you how near we are. This spot is on a slope, and Gaza is underneath us, so you’ll photo it clearly, indeed in spite of the fact that you’re still in Israel.
Why the photo works
I regularly photo tanks at this area since of the composition with the buildings behind in Gaza.
What caught my eye this time was the gather of female troopers because you don’t regularly see female officers battling here, even in spite of the fact that you listen a parcel almost how there are more female warriors in combat.
What struck me is seeing them taking a selfie. Youthful individuals these days, at whatever point something happens, they have to be photo it, to record it, to require a selfie.
